Since its creation in the 1960’s by its chairman and founder Ángel Jove Capellán, Anjoca has continued to evolve and consolidate its position in the property development sector as a solvent, recognised and diversified business group, in a constant process of international expansion in three continents.
The group, with delegations throughout all of Spain, in Tangiers (Morocco) and increasing commercial activity, today comprises 24 different companies with a large number of offices, in 5 coordinated and complementary business areas.
Ever watchful of market dynamics and possible business opportunities, the group has evolved by incorporating a multinational staff of close to 2,000, present in the Iberian Peninsula and its islands, with growing activity in Europe and North Africa.
Today the Anjoca group of companies continues to make advances in its business project, creating value.
The group combines projects of different extension, all highly integrated, in the area of the property market, construction, golf courses, the tourism sector with its own hotel chain, residences for the elderly, the development of shopping centres, alternative energy sources and the treatment and management of water supplies.
These initiatives ensure the group is fully implicated in the areas in which they are developed, focusing on quality of life, creating employment, respecting the environment, recovering cultural values, participating actively in their development at social, cultural and sporting level, with a solid commitment towards permanence.
Anjoca participated in the commemorative events to mark this anniversary, which took place throughout the whole of the summer and included its participation as the sponsor of the international show jumping event, the Anjoca-Elba Hotels trial, which took place in the Society’s installations in the Sabón business park, in the town of Arteixo in A Coruña. More than fifty riders from different countries took part in the event. The winning rider was Juan Casadevall Álvarez, whose efforts were rewarded with a stay in the Elba Hotel of his choice for two people.
The third edition of the IMS 670 World Sailing Cup was held at the Royal Yacht Club in Sanxenxo, Pontevedra. A meeting point for enthusiasts and competitors, the event was staged by the Offshore Racing Club and the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, bringing together more than 40 vessels with crews of 17 different nationalities. The event was won by Navantia, captained by Jesús Pintos, a multiple prize-winner in his category.
His efforts and the results obtained were rewarded with a one-week stay in an Elba Hotel.
A gala event at the Jorge Jove Museum, a project developed over a long period of time by the Jove family, took place in September 2007 in Sanxenxo, Pontevedra. As a parallel activity to the IMS 670 World Sailing Cup, it brought together for the first time a large number of classic cars, many of which are the only remaining examples in the world, with the aim of displaying the evolution of the motor car in a practical and educational manner, focusing on its contribution at historical, socio-cultural and industrial level at different times. The event surprised the public due to its original content, and the organisation for its resounding success.
In collaboration with the Spanish Golf Federation, a series of new calls will be set up to support and promote an increasingly popular sport, not just for the increasing number of new players, but also as a dynamic factor for developing quality tourism.
The installations of Fuerteventura Golf Club, an exceptional 18-hole course, set amongst palm trees, lakes and waterfalls, welcomed some 150 participants. At the end of the event a gala dinner was held, followed by a prize-giving ceremony, at the Elba Carlota Convention Centre Hotel. Apart from the president of Anjoca, a number of local authorities and various representatives of national and international sporting bodies were present at the dinner.
